The Kona Arts Retreat is a sanctuary for artists and writers, providing a nurturing environment for creative exploration. Our commitment to fostering artistic development is reflected in our unique location on the Big Island of Hawaii, a place of adventure and healing. The Kona Arts Retreat is furthering the original artists retreat located in Portland, Oregon which honored two patrons of the arts, Richard and Dorothy Sikora. Richard was an ethics professor at UBC in Canada and his wife, Dorothy, was a visual artist. They owned one of North America's largest classical records stores for 40 years and were passionate about music, art, and literature.
